EMER CONROY

Director



Emer Conroy has over 25 years working in Film & Television.

Emer recently directed the final two episodes of Outlander Season 8, including the series finale, following her work directing Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Vikings: Valhalla, Harry Wild and the Christmas romantic comedy The Twelve Dates ’Til Christmas. She has also recently completed directing half of Season 2 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Her work on Vikings: Valhalla included the Season 2 and Season 3 finales, alongside second-unit directing across the series. Her credits span drama, crime, historical adventure and comedy, reflecting a versatility developed through years of working across different genres and scales of production.

Emer began her career as a script supervisor, working for more than 20 years across film and television and collaborating with acclaimed directors including Lenny Abrahamson, Barry Levinson, Ciarán Donnelly and Jim Sheridan. Her extensive experience in script, performance, continuity and the technical language of filmmaking has informed her approach as a director, with story and character at the centre of her work.

Her short film Caitlín, starring Victoire Dauxerre and Eoin Macken, was selected for the Galway Film Fleadh, Richard Harris International Film Festival and Fastnet Short Film Festival.

Emer continues to work internationally across television and film. Her recent credits include Outlander, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Vikings: Valhalla, Harry Wild and Paris Is Always a Good Idea, with further projects currently in development and production.
